Why Arxell was shortlisted for a Travis Perkins Innovation Award
Travis Perkins is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in the building and construction industry. The Travis Perkins group comprises of over 20 businesses covering construction, building and home improvements.
Travis Perkins is renowned for being a forward thinking business. Not only are they leaders in the industry but they also strive to be as environmentally responsible as possible.
What really sets Travis Perkins apart is their dedication to innovation. They stay ahead of their competition by seeking out products that can make a real difference to the construction industry. They research new ideas and partner innovators, manufacturers and customers to ensure that they can continue to provide relevant solutions.
Arxell are delighted to have been shortlisted for a Travis Perkins Innovation Award. To be given the opportunity to pitch our drying system, and be recognised as providing something innovative to the construction industry, is an achievement we are very proud of.
So what makes Arxell so special?
Our drying system is truly unique. There is nothing else like it available on the market and it has been proven to speed up drying times by up to 75%. This could revolutionise the drying industry and could substantially reduce the costs caused by flooding. Originally this was the main objective of Arxell, but we soon realised that it could also be applied to the construction industry and provide huge benefits there too.
Probably the biggest benefit to the construction industry is the focussed drying element that Arxell offers. The units create a micro-climate over the wet area and distribute hot or cold air evenly. The temperature and humidity can be controlled which means that materials such as concrete, plaster and screed can be dried correctly in the optimum conditions.
The units are extremely durable and can be worked on, walked on or even used to store equipment on. This allows work to continue in a drying area. No more having to wait for an area to dry or having to seal off a room during the drying process. The units create a micro-climate below so that work can continue above.
The design of the units allows for great flexibility. They can be connected to most traditional drying equipment and are very easy to set up. You can build the system to the shape and size of the area that needs to be dried. They can be used to dry floors, walls and ceilings and can even be built around items of furniture or equipment.
Just like Travis Perkins, Arxell care about the environment. Our units are made from polypropylene which is not only made from recycled material it can also be recycled at the end of its use. On top of this, because our units concentrate drying air solely on the area that needs drying, they are much more energy efficient than other drying methods. No need to heat a whole room to dry out a floor.
Our system is fast. It’s faster at drying an area than any other drying equipment available. This is because we designed Arxell to work with existing drying methods and enhance their efficiency.
Equipment used in the construction industry has to be durable. Arxell is built to last. It is simple to clean, is extremely hard wearing and can be transported and stored easily. There is very little requirement for servicing or replacing the units so they make a great investment.
Travis Perkins looks for innovation and Arxell is certainly innovative. We believe that we were shortlisted because we created a drying system that is more effective and efficient than any other drying system available.
